As we begin a year of celebration for San Joaquin County’s 175th anniversary, it seems only fitting to highlight and honor the woman who dedicated her life to preserving the County’s history and who inspired others to do the same. The vibrancy and diversity of the San Joaquin County Historical Museum’s collections as well as its never-ending efforts to educate and inspire people and communities while working closely with the Board of Supervisors and others are due in no small part to the vision, passion, and tenacity of Medora Johnson, its first director.
